How to say Thank You in Bosnian

In the Bosnian language, to say “thank you” one can say “Hvala” [хвала] and to say “Thank you, Madam“ one could say “Hvala vam gospođo” [хвала вам госпођо]. If one heard the phrase “Hvala vam što ste došli” [Хвала вам што сте дошли] this would mean “Thank you for coming” and to say “thank you for your time” the speaker could say “Hvala vam na vremenu” [Хвала вам на времену].

To say “thank you very much” one could state “Mnogo vam hvala” [много вам хвала]. In Bosnian, “Hvala vam gospodine” [хвала вам господине] means “thank you, Sir” and to say “thank you for the invitation” one could say “Hvala vam za pozivnicu” [Хвала вам за позивницу].

If a person said “thank you teacher” in Bosnian this would be “Hvala učitelju” [Хвала учитељу] and to say “she said thank you to her” one could say “Ona joj je rekla hvala” [Она јој је рекла хвала]. In Bosnian, “thank you, class” translates as ”Hvala, razrede” [Хвала, разреде] and to say “thank you for your time” one would say “Hvala vam na vremenu” [Хвала вам на времену].

When one wants to say “he said thank you to him” one can use “On mu je rekao hvala” [Он му је рекао хвала]. To say “she said thank you to him” one could say “Ona mu je rekla hvala” [Она му је рекла хвала].

If a person says “Radim u hotelu” [Радим у хотелу] in Bosnian this is “I work at a hotel.” When the speaker wants to say “thank you dad” then he or she can use “Hvala tata” [Хвала тата] and to state “what do you do for living?” then one he could use “Čime se bavite?” [Čиме се бавите?].

The statement “thanks I had a nice trip” would be “Hvala, ugodno sam putovao” [Хвала, угодно сам путовао] in Bosnian. If someone wanted to say “you are welcome” then the person could say “Nema na čemu” [Нема на чему] in Bosnian.
