Learn Bosnian phrases

Memorization is necessary if one wants to learn Bosnian phrases. In the Bosnian language the word for “weather” is “vrijeme” [вријеме] and to say “the weather is hot today” this translates as “Danas je vruće” [Данас је вруће]. The word for “hot” is “vruće” [вруће] and the word for “cold” is “hladno” [хладно]. When saying “it is cold in the winter” in Bosnian, this translates as “Hladno je u zimu” [Хладно је у зиму].

To say “the sun is hot in the summer” people use “Sunce je vrelo na ljeto” [Сунце је врело на љето] and the statement “I want to send email” would translate as “Hoću da pošaljem imejl” [Хоћу да пошаљем имејл]. The word for “cinema” translates as “ kino” [кино]. Someone who says “Idem u kino” [Идем у кино] is saying “I go to the cinema.” To say “job” the word for this is “ posao” [посао]. If a person wants to say “do you have a job?” this would be “Imaš li posao?” [Имаш ли посао?] in the Bosnian language.

To state “how much is the bill?” the speaker could say “Koliki je račun?” [Колики је рачун?]. Similarly, to say “do you have a menu?” the person could use “Imaš li jelovnik?” [Имаш ли јеловник?] and if the person wants to state “I will eat a sandwich” then the phrase “Ješću sendvić” [Јешћу сендвић] could be used.

Other Bosnian phrases include “gladan” [гладан]meaning “hungry” and to say “far” in Bosnian this is “daleko [далеко]. A person who wishes to say “four months ” can use the term “četiri mjeseca [четири мјесеца] and if he or she wants to state “I need help” then the phrase “Treba mi pomoć” [Треба ми помоћ] could be used.

If the listener hears “Imam glavobolju” [Имам главобољу] then this would mean “I have a headache” and when someone wants to express “what is the address?” then the person could say “Koja je adresa?” [Која је адреса?].

In Bosnian to say “strawberry” one could say “jagoda” [јагода]. In Bosnian when saying “how much is this?” the translation of this is “Koliko je ovo?” [Колико је ово?] and when saying “here” this is “ovde” [овде]. If a person says “ljudi” [људи] the translation of this is “people.”
